Response to Coronavirus (Covid-19) - Updated 11 November 2020
With the evolving situation regarding the spread of the coronavirus Covid-19, we appreciate it is worrying times for everyone.
The health and wellbeing of our guests and our contractors are our top priority and I want to reassure you of the diligence of our approach as we manage the changing situation.
We continue to monitor and adhere to the UK Government's advice and guidelines.
Hill Lodge was closed since lockdown in March, and remained so until we welcomed our first guests back on 17th July. We were excited to be open and available for visitors once again and were busy right up until this current second national lockdown. We thank our lovely guests w've welcomed this year for their cntinued loyalty and compliance with our saftey precautions.
We would also like to thank our guests who have had to cancel their bookings for their flexibility and understanding. Most have postponed their trips to later dates and many have booked for their corresponding dates next year. We urge future guests who are thinking they may need to cancel due to the virus and self-isolation, to do the same. That way, we can work together, and support each other during these difficult times.
We will continue to put all the necessary precautions in place so our guests can have a safe and enjoyable stay with us, when allowed to do so. We follow extra cleaning, disinfecting and self-distancing protocols, including:
- deep cleans between all guests
- use of gloves and masks for anyone entering the annexe
- social distancing between us and guests on arrival, departure and throughout their stays.
This is not an easy time for anyone at the moment. It is a dynamic situation and will continue to evolve.
Our wish is that all our past and future guests stay healthy and safe. Together we’ll get through this!
Given the extended travel bans we made the difficult decision to suspend operations in relation to our trips to this region, during 2020. We are now though tentatively looking ahead to 2021 and planning some trips.
Contact with our operators in Africa at the moment is somewhat patchy as they are not working normal hours so the development of itineraries is taking a little longer than normal. So we ask that our clients bare with us, at this time.
Stay Safe & All Best Wishes to all
Becky & Paul
