Response to Coronavirus (Covid-19) - Updated May 2022
With the evolving situation regarding the spread of the coronavirus Covid-19, we appreciate it has been worrying times for everyone. Whilst rates have dropped considerably we are canscious that it is still out there!
The health and wellbeing of our guests and our contractors are our top priority and we want to reassure you of the diligence of our approach as we manage the changing situation.
We continue to monitor and adhere to the UK and regional Governments' advice and guidelines.
Hill Lodge
There are currently no restrictions to our business activities in England so we are pleased to be open and able welcome our guests to Hill Lodge.
We continue to put all the necessary precautions in place so our guests can have a safe and enjoyable stay with us. We follow extra cleaning, disinfecting and self-distancing protocols, including:
- deep cleans between all guests
- use of gloves and masks for anyone entering the annexe
- social distancing between us and guests on arrival, departure and throughout their stays.
We thank our lovely guests, whom we have welcomed over the past two years during the pandemic, for their continued loyalty and compliance with our safety precautions.
We would also like to thank our guests who have had to cancel their bookings for their flexibility and understanding. Most have postponed their trips to later dates. We urge future guests who are thinking they may need to cancel due to the virus and self-isolation, to do the same. That way, we can work together, and support each other during these difficult times.
Southern Africa
Given the extended travel bans and spread of Covid-19 in Southern Africa including with the Omicron variant we made the difficult decision to suspend operations in relation to our trips to this region, during 2020 and 2021. We are now though tentatively looking ahead to 2022 and beyond and planning some trips. We continually monitor changing Government protocols around foreign travel, including the need for negative tests, but hope that some of these restrictions can be lifting enabling foreign trips to take place more practicably.
Guests needing to cancel trips to our tours in Africa due to Covid 19 can do so up to 14 days prior to arrival and receive a full refund* or credit for a trip at a later date.
Contact with our operators in Africa at the moment is somewhat patchy as they are not working normal hours so the development of itineraries is taking a little longer than normal. So we ask that our clients bare with us, at this time.
This is not an easy time for anyone at the moment. It is a dynamic situation and will continue to evolve.
Our wish is that all our past and future guests stay healthy and safe. Together we’ll get through this!
All Best Wishes to all
Becky & Paul
